Rooted in nature

Where the bees lead, we follow

OakBee begins in the forests of Kumaon - where bees have always known the best flowers.

The forests of Kumaon

The forests of Kumaon are among the most biodiverse landscapes in the Himalayan foothills. Untouched by industrial agriculture, these forests sustain thousands of flowering species across seasons - rhododendron, wild berry, forest oak, and more. It is here that OakBee honey begins.

How we harvest

Our bees forage freely - moving with the seasons, following the blooms. The honey is harvested with care, filtered gently to remove debris while preserving every bit of pollen, enzyme, and natural goodness. No heat. No additives. Nothing removed that should not be.

What we believe about honey

The crystallisation in your jar, the colour that shifts with the season, the slight variation in taste from batch to batch - these are not imperfections. They are the truth of real honey.

From Hive to Jar

Four steps, and we stop there

01

Forage

Wild blossoms

Our bees range across uncultivated Himalayan hillside - wildflower meadows, oak and rhododendron forest, litchi groves in the foothills. Each landscape leaves its signature on the honey.

02

Harvest

Once the comb is ready

Frames are lifted only when fully capped. We never strip a hive bare. The bees always keep enough - everything we bottle is genuinely surplus.

03

Strain

Cold & coarse

A single coarse strain at room temperature. Wax is removed, nothing else. Pollen, enzymes, and propolis all stay intact - the markers of real, raw honey.

04

Bottle

Glass, by hand

Each jar is filled, capped, and labelled by hand within days of harvest. No warehousing, no middlemen. What reaches you is as alive as what left the comb.

In their words

I grew up on honey from my grandfather's village, and OakBee is the first jar in years that tastes like I remember - alive, a little wild, and never quite the same twice.

About this honey

Kaafal Wildflower Honey is a raw multifloral honey from a single apiary in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. The bees forage on wildflowers, eucalyptus, and seasonal flora from the surrounding hill forest range.

Every jar carries the batch number, harvest month, and a QR code for that batch. Hand-bottled within the week of harvest. No heat, no blending, no additives.

Tasting Notes

Warm and floral with mild woody undertones. Natural sweetness without the sharp sugar edge of processed honey. Slightly thick in consistency, with a warm amber colour that lightens as it crystallises.

Raw honey naturally crystallises over time - this is a sign of quality, not spoilage. Place the jar in warm water (under 40°C) to return it to liquid without damaging any nutrients.

Origin & Harvest

Our hives are migratory - they move with the seasons across the Kumaon foothills and the surrounding hill forest range, following the bloom cycle. Each location shapes the character of the honey from that harvest window.

The Kumaon harvest happens March through May, when the hills are in full blossom. This is the wildflower and multifloral window - dozens of hill species all contributing to the hive at the same time.
